A graduate of the University of Birmingham and the Royal College of Music in London, Andrew has three decades of subsequent professional experience teaching students of all ages and abilities, from beginner to diploma level. He is also widely respected as an educational consultant, writer and composer.
Andrew offers regular lessons with a discounted monthly subscription. He is also available for one-off consultation lessons at his studio in Milton Keynes, and runs an innovative online learning service (via video feedback, for maximum quality and flexibility) for players anywhere in the world who would like his professional support.
Andrew focuses on the positive development of each individual student at her or his own pace, enabling all to become confident independent learners, whatever their musical interests. To help students succeed at the piano, he supports them with strategies for effective practice based on his best-selling book How to Practise Music (published worldwide by Hal Leonard).
Although trained as a classical musician, Andrew also embraces jazz and contemporary piano styles, as well as composing and improvisation. He places a high priority in helping all his students develop an Active Repertoire of pieces which they enjoy playing, bringing confidence, satisfaction and musical enjoyment to all his pupils.
